Parliament prepares for Special Session with extensive rehearsals in old and new buildings

In preparation for the upcoming special Parliament session scheduled to commence on September 18, a comprehensive rehearsal has been conducted over the last three days. Both the iconic old Parliament building and the newly constructed Parliament House have been meticulously arranged for the session. Government sources reveal that the rehearsal process involved one day in the old building and two days in the new one.

A paramount focus of the rehearsal has been the seating arrangements for ministers and Members of Parliament (MPs), ensuring their comfort and accessibility during the session. This also encompassed testing technical arrangements, including seats, microphones, and display systems, to prevent any inconvenience to legislators in the newly constructed Parliament building.

It is worth noting that the government is expected to introduce bills in the House during the last three days of the special Parliament session, which spans from September 18 to 22. Amid questions raised by opposition parties regarding the session's agenda, the government released it on Wednesday.

During the special Parliament session, discussions will revolve around the accomplishments of India's 75 years of independence, encompassing milestones from the Constituent Assembly's formation to the present day. Additionally, the government has specified that the agenda also includes four important bills to be deliberated upon during this special session.
